Harlow is described as "the best dog ever" by her senior foster home. At around 5-6 years old, this petite 59 pound Doberman once weighed an astonishing 133 pounds when her previous owner surrendered her to rescue, struggling with severe obesity. Shortly after entering rescue, her excessive weight caused her to break her shoulder, leading to surgery in an attempt to save the use of her leg. Unfortunately, despite the operation, her leg doesn’t function as it should. Diagnosed with hypothyroidism, Harlow is now on low-cost medication that she takes twice daily and continues to thrive. But Harlow would never want anyone to feel sorry for her—she is a very happy and healthy girl now. Fully vetted and microchipped, she is completely housetrained, has excellent recall, and loves her people. Harlow gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has done great at the dog park. She has even swum in a pool with a life jacket on, which she seems to enjoy. Crate trained and knowing basic commands, Harlow enjoys playing fetch, going for short walks, and being an all-around loving companion.
